The plugins extend Apple‘s Dictionary application with Latvian dictionaries.

Requirements

Mac OS 10.5.
Mac OS 10.6.
Apple Dictionary Version 2

Installation

Copy the dictionary plugins needed into Dictionaries directory.
For the plugin to be available for all users in the system copy it into /Library/Dictionaries/
For the plugin to be available only to a specific user in the system copy it into /Users/(Lietotājvārds)/Library/Dictionaries/
If the Dictionaries directory is not present, create it.
Before deleting unneeded dictionary plugin(s) quitting Dictionary.app- if opened- is advised.

Notes

After the installation open Dictionary.app, choose Dictionary : Preferences... and arrange dictionary priority list as needed. It is possible to change Labelhere.
By pressing ⌘CtrlD over any word in a cocoa application an instant translation is supplied.
Dictionaries priority list as it appears here is set up as described above.
Under System Preferences : Keyboard & Mouse : Keyboard Shortcuts or System Preferences : Keyboard : Keyboard Shortcuts it is possible to set up Look up in Dictionary keyboard shortcut. When pressing it while the cursor is over a word in a cocoa application the standalone Dictionary.app will open supplying the translation.

The dictionaries are available in StarDict format here.
